It also includes a potential ABV scale, which is intended to be read before fermentation begins, and a sugar per liter scale for measuring grams of sugar per liter.
The unit is calibrated to provide accurate readings when the liquid is at 68 degrees Fahrenheit, or 20 degrees Celsius. To use it, fill a test jar with your sample, place the hydrometer into the liquid, and make sure it is fully suspended without touching the sides of the container.
